Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, call or text — we answer in English or Spanish.

Is there a car locksmith near me?

If you are in Miami-Dade or Broward, yes: we are a mobile car locksmith, so our technician comes to you instead of you going to a shop. Call or text your address.

How fast can you get here?

Call or text with your address and we give you an honest arrival time for that moment. We don't promise a time we can't keep.

Locked out of car? Can you unlock it?

Yes. We unlock car doors with care and the right tools, without damaging the weather strip or the door. If a child or a pet is inside in the heat, call 911 first.

Do I need the original key?

No. We can make a key from the VIN or the lock, even when every key is lost, and program it at your car.

What do I need to show?

A photo ID and the title or registration. We only make keys for the owner of the vehicle.

How do I get a price?

Text us the year, make and model (or a photo of your key) and what happened. We text you the price before we drive out.

Is there car key replacement near me that comes to my car?

Yes — that is what we do. Car key replacement, spare keys, fobs and smart keys are cut and programmed at your car, often with no tow and no dealer appointment.

Which cars do you work on?

Most domestic and import makes and models, including luxury and European cars like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, Jaguar and Land Rover. Send the car and we confirm before we go.

Can you program a key I bought online?

Often, yes. Text us a photo first and we'll tell you if it will work with your car before you spend more.

Do you program modules?

Yes: immobilizer, ECU, BCM, ABS, instrument clusters and module cloning when one is replaced. Some modules are read on our bench and returned the same visit or a later one.

Do you reset airbag modules?

Yes, as part of a real repair: deployed airbags and pretensioners are replaced first and the module is reset or replaced so the system works. We never just turn the light off.

Do you do ECU tuning?

Only the legal kind: factory updates, feature coding and emissions-legal tunes approved for street use. No deletes, no "DTC off", no "pops & bangs".

How much does a car locksmith cost in Miami?

It depends on the car, the kind of key (metal, chip, remote or smart key), whether one key still works, and where the car is. Text us the year, make and model and we send the exact price before we drive out, so there are no surprises at the car.

Locksmith or dealership for a new car key?

A mobile locksmith comes to the car, so you skip the tow and the wait for a service appointment, and the key is cut and programmed on the spot. For a few very new models the dealer can be the only option; text us the car and we tell you honestly.

What is the difference between a transponder key and a regular key?

A transponder (chip) key has a small chip the car must recognize before the engine starts; a plain metal key only turns the lock. Most cars from the late 1990s on use a chip, so a copy has to be cut and also programmed.

My key fob battery died. Can I still get in and start the car?

Usually yes: most fobs hide a metal blade for the door, and many push-to-start cars read a weak fob held against the start button or a marked spot. If a new battery does not fix it, the fob may need repair or reprogramming, and we can check it at the car.

Why do car locks and key fobs fail more in Miami?

Heat and humidity drain fob batteries faster and wear out the electronics, and salt air near the coast corrodes door locks and ignitions. A spare key and a fresh fob battery once a year save a lot of trouble.

How can I protect my car from keyless theft?

Keep smart keys away from doors and windows at home, store them in a signal-blocking pouch, and use any sleep or disable option your fob or car offers. If keys were lost or stolen, have them erased from the car so they stop working.

How do I tell a real locksmith from a scam?

A real locksmith gives you a clear price before coming, arrives in a marked vehicle, asks for your ID and title or registration before making a key, and gives you a written invoice. Be careful with very low phone prices that grow once the work starts.

Do you come to my neighborhood?

We cover Miami-Dade and Broward: Brickell, Downtown, Wynwood, Edgewater, Little Havana, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach and South Beach, Doral, Hialeah, Kendall, Homestead, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and everything in between.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Call or text the Spanish line (786) 314-1193, or the English line (305) 896-0369.
