GM Passlock & Key Programming
If your Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac or Buick shows a security light, cranks but won't start, or starts and dies, the GM anti-theft system may not be seeing the right key or sensor. Older models use Passlock, a sensor in the ignition lock; newer ones use a chip key or a push-to-start smart key. We diagnose it at your car in Miami-Dade or Broward, repair the ignition or sensor when needed, run the Passlock relearn so the system accepts the parts again, and program new keys, spares or all keys lost.
How the job goes
- 01
Text the year and model and what the security light does, or send a photo of your key.
- 02
We confirm the price by text, then diagnose the key, the ignition and the security system.
- 03
We repair the ignition or Passlock sensor if needed and run the relearn so the system accepts it.
- 04
New keys are cut and programmed, then we test the start several times before we leave.

Questions
What does the security light mean on a Chevy or GMC?
It means the anti-theft system sees a problem with the key, the Passlock sensor or the ignition. If it stays on or flashes and the car won't start or dies, we diagnose the cause and fix it at your car.
What is a GM Passlock relearn?
It is the factory procedure that teaches the car's computers to accept the Passlock sensor or ignition again, for example after a repair. We run it with professional programming equipment at your car, after fixing whatever caused the fault.
Can you program a GM key if I lost all my keys?
In most cases, yes. We cut the key from the lock or by code and program it to your Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac or Buick at the car. Have your ID and title or registration ready — we only make keys for the owner.
Why does my Chevy crank but not start?
If the security light is on, the anti-theft system may be blocking the start because it doesn't see a valid key or Passlock signal. It can also be fuel or ignition trouble. We check the security side first and tell you honestly what we found.
