What should I do if I locked my keys in the car?

Stay calm and stay near the car if it's safe. Call or text us the location and the car, and we'll send the price and an arrival time. Avoid coat hangers or prying the door, which can damage the weather seal, the lock or the wiring. If a child or pet is inside, call 911.

Will unlocking my car damage it?

We use entry tools made for opening cars, and we work carefully around the door, the paint and the seals. That's why it's better to call a car locksmith than to force a door or a window yourself.

Can you unlock a car with the smart key locked inside?

Yes. Push-to-start cars can lock with the smart key inside, especially when the fob battery is weak. We open the car, you get the key back, and if the fob is acting up we can check it while we're there.

Do you need proof that the car is mine?

Yes. Before you drive away we check a photo ID and the registration or title. If those papers are locked in the car, we check them as soon as it's open. It protects you as much as it protects us.
