BMW FRM Footwell Module Repair
Did your BMW lose the power windows, exterior lights or mirrors right after the battery died, was replaced or the car was jump-started? That is a classic sign of a failed FRM (footwell module). On FRM2 and FRM3 cars the module's memory can get corrupted when the voltage drops, and the car forgets how to run those functions. We diagnose the FRM at your car in Miami-Dade or Broward, then repair its data or replace it with a working module coded to your car. Some jobs need the module read on our bench and returned the same visit or a later one.
How the job goes
- 01
Text us your BMW model and what stopped working: windows, lights, mirrors or turn signals.
- 02
We confirm the price by text and diagnose the FRM at the car, checking the battery, voltage and fault codes.
- 03
We repair the module's data on the car or on our bench, or replace it with a working FRM.
- 04
The module is coded to your car, then we test the windows, lights, mirrors and turn signals before we leave.
What this covers
- FRM2 and FRM3 footwell modules
- Power windows that stopped working
- Exterior lights, turn signals or brake lights out
- Mirrors that won't fold or adjust
- FRM failure after a dead battery, a battery change or a jump start
- Common on 3 Series, X5, X6 and MINI models with an FRM
- Light and window warnings on the dashboard
What changes the price
- Which FRM version your BMW or MINI has
- Whether the module's data can be repaired or it needs replacing
- Whether the module is read on the car or on our bench
- Other faults found in the diagnosis, like a weak battery
Questions
Why did my BMW windows stop working after a jump start?
On many BMW and MINI models the FRM footwell module controls the windows and exterior lights. A voltage drop from a dead battery or a jump start can corrupt its memory, and those functions stop working. Repairing the module's data often brings them back.
Can a BMW FRM module be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?
Often it can be repaired by restoring the module's data. If the module is physically damaged, we replace it with a working FRM and code it to your car. We tell you which one it is after the diagnosis.
What are the symptoms of a bad FRM module?
Power windows that won't move, exterior lights or turn signals out, mirrors that won't adjust and light warnings on the dash — often all at once, right after a battery problem. We confirm it with a diagnosis before any repair.
Do I have to tow my BMW to fix the FRM?
Often, no. We come to the car, diagnose it and repair the FRM on site. Some jobs need the module read on our bench, and we return it the same visit or a later one.
